NEET Syllabus 2027 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology): Chapter-wise
The NEET UG syllabus is set by the National Medical Commission (NMC). This page lists it chapter by chapter in NCERT order: 79 chapters across Class 11 and Class 12 (Physics 28, Chemistry 19, Biology 32).
Each chapter shows NEET MIND's weightage estimate and links to its previous year questions (79 of 79 chapters), and to Learn notes and a mind map (79 of 79).

Where this syllabus comes from
It is based on the NMC NEET UG syllabus, finalised by the NMC's Under Graduate Medical Education Board. The revised syllabus notified for NEET 2024 is still the one in force: the NEET 2026 syllabus, issued in December 2025, made no changes to it.
As of 1 October 2026, no separate NEET 2027 syllabus notice had been published. Check the official sites for any new notice: the NMC sets the syllabus, and NTA, which conducts the exam, also posts it on the NEET site.
The official syllabus is written as units and topics. We list it by NCERT chapter because that is how most students study it. The High/Medium/Low weightage is our estimate, not an official figure.

How to use the syllabus
Start with the high-weightage chapters
We rate 8 of 28 Physics chapters, 8 of 19 Chemistry chapters and 19 of 32 Biology chapters as high weightage: the ones we expect to carry the most questions. Cover those first. The chapter-wise weightage table ranks every chapter and shows how many questions each one has actually had.
Find your weak chapters before you plan
The free diagnostic is 45 questions in 45 minutes, with no sign-up. It estimates your score and shows which chapters are costing you marks, so you spend time where it pays off.
Practise each chapter with real PYQs
Every chapter above links to its previous year questions. Structural Organisation in Animals (Biology) has the most in our bank: 133 questions from 2005–2026.
Revise with Learn notes and mind maps
Use a chapter's mind map for a quick recap before a test, and its Learn page when a topic needs another read.
Questions about the NEET syllabus
Who sets the NEET UG syllabus?
The National Medical Commission (NMC), through its Under Graduate Medical Education Board. NTA conducts the exam and publishes the syllabus with its information for candidates.
Has the NEET 2027 syllabus been released?
As of 1 October 2026 we have not seen a separate NEET 2027 syllabus notice. The syllabus notified for NEET 2024 is still in force; the NEET 2026 syllabus, issued in December 2025, repeated it without changes. Check nmc.org.in for any new notice before your exam.
How many chapters are in the NEET syllabus?
The official syllabus is organised by units, not chapters. Mapped to NCERT chapters, our list has 79: 28 in Physics, 19 in Chemistry, 32 in Biology.
Is the weightage on this page official?
No. Neither NMC nor NTA publishes chapter-wise weightage. The High/Medium/Low rating and expected questions are NEET MIND's estimates. To check them against what has actually been asked, the weightage page shows real question counts from 3,862 PYQs.
Why do some PYQs not appear under any chapter here?
118 questions in our bank are tagged to chapters outside this list, such as Chemistry In Everyday Life, Environmental Chemistry, General Principles And Processes Of Isolation Of Elements. Most come from older papers (25 from 2022–2026). They stay in the PYQ bank for practice but are not counted against any chapter on this page.
Know the syllabus. Now find your gaps.
The free 45-minute diagnostic shows which chapters are costing you marks. Then practise those chapters with real NEET questions.
